Tarot Fantasy Star Card

The Star is a symbol of renewed energy, hope and inspiration. The old saying “the stars are in alignment” meant good fortune and opportunity were near. This is also related to the zodiac and constellations in the practice of astrology and modern day astronomy. Stars served as guiding beacons for our ancestors to navigate by. Builders of bygone ages constructed monuments aligned to the stars for spiritual and practical purposes.

The merkaba star seen here is an important shape in the study of sacred geometry. In Hebrew traditions it is strongly associated with the Chariot. With Egyptian beliefs, body and soul came together as a vehicle of light through which divine energies could shine. In this way we could receive brilliance and blessings from higher powers. Our own Sun is a star. By contrast, a black hole is a collapsed star.

Some beings such as Elves linked the stars with memory. To them these infinite glittering lights in the eternal cosmos represented a great woven tapestry of thought and moments suspended in time. They served to remind us of those who went before us and were considered the shimmering souls of people who lived in the past. Some starlight we see on earth comes from long dead stars. The beam that reaches us and the information it contains can be thousands or even many millions of years old.

Reversed: Hopelessness, lack of confidence, learning or inspiration, ignorance, spiritual despair.
